I don`t know though. They were made to look ordinary enough for large parts of the game against Austria at the weekend. After the shock wins for the Czechs and now the Swiss could there be a shock winner of the tournament as well? I think Denmark will be there or thereabouts in 2 weeks` time. Maybe England as well if they can get past the Germans tomorrow.

Mbappé`s penalty is saved. Switzerland win the shootout 5-4 and go through to a QF against Spain next weekend. The world champions are knocked out of the tournament. An absolutely shocking Euro 2020 for Mbappé. Another of the big guns will be going home early. The Swiss will be playing in their 1st QF in any major tournament since they hosted the 1954 World Cup. Who will win the tournament now?

I hope it doesn't open the door for England, id like to see Belgium or Italy win it now

So eventually spain do make the last 8. They win it 5-3. They were 9/1 to win in extra time. How far will spain go overall?

Must be frustrating for Arsenal fans seeing the effort Xhaka is making for Switzerland after many lacklustre performances for his club

He always puts in a shift, even for us and I dont think that was the issue for most fans. More the fact that he was unable to play a forward pass for the majority of the season, and a few silly mistakes.
Honestly, I think he´s a decent player and will go on to do well in another club.

I didn't mean that in a negative way really,
I just never seen him as influential, or dictate a game in the way he did last night
As you say it may be more of a reflection on those around him at Arsenal, that he seems more authorative in a Swiss Jersey

I got ya, no worries. I agree he hasn´t had a consistent impact on the squad out on the pitch. Inconsistency is our team motto currently.

Jose will be at Roma, im not sure if Xhaka will be with him there yet, his value may have gone up by a couple of Euro after last night

England v Gemany at Wembley. The 3rd time these countries have played each other at Wembley in a major tournament with 1 win each so far although of course the German victory at Euro 96 was through a penalty shootout. I will go for a 1-1 draw and penalties again to decide who goes through to the QFs.
