Thumbs up Over 600 criminal convictions for selling sex expunged.

Definitely good news for some, no criminal record.

A move in the right direction by the government.

Over 600 'sale of sex' convictions to be expunged in effort to recognise vulnerable victims

So all convictions will be wiped but at the end of the article sounds the same as now or am I misunderstanding?

“It will firmly assert our national policy position that the focus of An Garda Síochána’s attention is not directed towards those in the sex trade, who are exploited and victimised, but rather towards those who are responsible for exploiting them and those who purchase and demand services,” she added.

I reckon these are escorts that we’re sharing and ratted out by nosey neighbours, landlords, local competition, rejected clients, parish priests, punters wives, etc.

Surprised by how many there were.

The situation of two sex workers at the same location is still treated as brothal working,
Until the Minister's legitive changes become Law. The owner( landlady/landlord) can still be considered a brothal Keeper. Recognise sex work legally,
Regulate and set standards already suggested by S.W l.

No misunderstanding .... they're still 'out to get us' .... probably now more than ever .... whatever about the major cities,...(IMO), it's becoming very unsafe in rural towns ... two minutes on this site and the Gardaí have all the info they need .... just hope you're not the one on 'the punt' if and when they ever decide to act ...

Same as now is what I thought. Lottery I’d imagine considering the amount of reviews per day but be extra careful in rural towns. I’ve gone quiet in a few months and lost interest

From what the minister is saying there's going to be know positive changes for punters after the upcoming review!
However, it is absolutely correct and proper that these people have had their records cleared for something that should never have been illegal in the first place!
Oh and refund fines or any court forced donations made by these workers to the likes of Ruhama immediately!
    Ride them on the beaches!

There won't be any drastic changes regarding the law, The Nordic Law is there to criminalise the client not the sex worker so don't expect much here as not being enforced anyway so what yous want..
Nothing SWI makes any sense at all and as for brothels they were always illegal so nothing going to change much there

The Government needs to get more facilities in place where vulnerable and saved sex workers can be helped, so more support is needed and McEntee needs to get this done so more action and less talk Minister please
