Ahh yes, I see... I assume you mean Facebook friends suggestions??

I was able to completely avoid that type of thing, because it's been my policy for as long as I've had 'Smart' phones to never use Facebook AT ALL on my phone, whether through the App or through one of the web browsers, and no FB Messenger for me on the phone either. It's one of those things buried in the 'Terms & Conditions' that using FB on your phone, you grant them permission to access ALL of the content on your phone-- that's EVERYTHING. They can get your contacts, browser history, and your photos too, even the ones you DIDN'T post to FB! There was an article about it way back, buried in the back pages of a few of the daily papers. I had an acquaintance who worked at FB that confirmed that they do have access to everything in your phone if you use it on your phone, so I've never used it on my phone, and I have thus never had that issue.

I've never seriously bothered with the second phone option, tried it for a while but just found it awkward, you never had it when you needed it and couldn't use it in front of others, all a bit covert and shifty. As the saying goes "keep it simple stupid" save your regulars numbers under vague aliases, a text from "frank" or "pat" isn't going to land you in trouble and just make 100% sure you have banners and flags option turned off in settings to prevent whatsap messages being displayed on your screen in full and you're good to go.
If you do decide on a second phone, forget the ancient Nokia, useless for checking adverts or for whatsap/viber etc and they just stand out more than a smartphone, they just give off a burner phone vibe

Good tips here for sure good man, I've done the same with the banner alerts in settings, as well as the aliases as well

It's a bit more awkward changing sims with the smart phones. Is it a bit awkward buying a new sim when they ask you for your name to register it under and you decline?

I wonder what percentage of guys here actually use a different phone/sim?

I have 1 punting phone that I leave at work.
You can buy a sim card in any post office. Postmobile, same network than Vodafone.
I used my name, but you can use any name. Top up as you go for as little as 5 euro. Credit last for 6 months. Not a bother, only calls and texts. Old school. No data.

Only problem with a punting fone is it's never where you want it when you want it. I drive multiple different vehicles every week and it just didnt work for me.

And you think a punting fone is like a cloaking device?

No, but is a pay as you go that is unregistered traceable to you? I don't know.
In that instance I'd rather the guards just contacted my actual phone because a burner would prob make you a person of interest to them.. just something I'd thought about and used to worry me.
