The fact people are going to Everest to take snap shots and then be airlifted away in a helicopter if it's TRUE is a disgrace.

I think personally I could climb it with oxygen of course & I've never climbed a mountain in my life. I would clearly trai n for it more so cardio than anything else.

Although the fact you have to adapt for about 6-8 weeks a different camps I'd want to do it with mates or it would be mentally very challenging having to talk with sherpas the whole time.

Now to be fair if I attempted it pre 1990s i wouldn't fancy my chances those ladders are all set up, ropes are changed, step 2 has a big ladder wouldn't fancy my chances free climbing that like mallory did

Mountain Rescue Ireland.Annual statistics.132 minor injuries,127 searches,50 serious injuries,65 lost,59 missing,25 fatalities. This year so far there has been an increase mainly because people are ill prepared and are more interested in taking selfies for social media in dangerous areas on the mountains than being aware of their surroundings. In their virtual world they have concured Everest. The reality is that voluntary services spent over ten thousand hours last year saving people....Call out log, three lost phones, one lost shoe and someone was standing on top of a rock afraid of a flock of killer sheep.
    Civility costs you nothing.

Someone rang mountain rescue a few years ago because they lost their cat in the Mournes.I think it just saw an opportunity to leg it.

Don't think an ordinary helicopter can reach the summit not enough air for the rotors to provide lift.
Only helicopter that I know off that reached the summit was in 2005(things could have changed by now) it was specially designed for that purpose and one that only had room for the pilot. Even then it was an extremely dangerous flight

Valery Rozov recorded the highest ever base jump off Everest.Rip.....I personally dont see the point in climbing back down a mountain unless its during a rescue situation...Its statistically safer to jump off.

To base jump off the summit would be a world record.

Annapurna I and II : in South of the country , your jumping off point would be Pokhara region

Mt. E. : North part of the country on border w China .

Never judge till you've walked in their shoes. Plus it's clearly too cheap because far too many people are on that mountain.

Clearly never ventured beyond the developed world.

Never been to EBC but have done the Annapurnas and other treks in Nepal.
    Which other treks ?

I’m always looking for new ‘untouched’ ground .

Tell me about your other treks ?
