Default Paying with Bitcoin and other crypto currencies

I see escorts can now pay their advertising with crypto currency, fair play to EI.

Just looked at the price of bitcoin there , over €40000 , to think people were saying 3 years ago €15000 will be the highest it ever goes too.

Fair play to those who bought at that point!

Elon Musk has pushed the price of bitcoin up since buying in and it will probably double that but at the same time its a huge risk,
Cash for now is certainly king in the punting game

It's not a huge risk at all. The convenience of bitcoin and revolut etc. compared to traditional banking systems becomes more evident every day. Traditional banking is beginning to look archaic.
It's still fairly volatile as a currency but that is part of its attraction. I'd say it will eventually top out at 100K. Wait for a dip to around 30 - 35K and then buy in. Or just go for it now.
Dogecoin is far more of a risk, but potentially has a greater upside.
The only possible negative against bitcoin is how environmentally unfriendly bitcoin mining is. But you can say the same of so many industries.

Can the value of it change very suddenly and often. Like I could buy €1000 of it and 5 minutes later could be worth €800. Cash is king in my book anyway.

its depends, it really is highly volatile but worst thing to worry about is hacking, just one instance of hacking would most likely wipe your entire bitcoin out and there is no recourse, gone forever

You don't know much about investing, do you.

There are many reasons for it to exist, just because you might not use it in your local supermarket doesn't mean it doesn't have many purposes.

What makes a share increase in value? Land, gold, oil? Supply, demand and fundamentals. All of which are as true of bitcoin as they are of anything else.
