    Crowds in Melbourne.

Djokovic is hot favourite to win it.

This one is really tough to call. Most players were quarantined for two weeks with no basic training conditions so maybe Aussie players have slight advantage. In womens already two upsets with Kerber and Azarenka out in 1st round. Azarenka was struggling with with some sort of illness or just weather conditions, not confirmed yet. For womens probably Barty has a good chance as she was training properly and beat Muguruza in a final of one of the satelites to AO. In mens apart from Djokovic record at AO, maybe Bautista Agut could finally do something bit it will depend who can adjust best to conditions

Azarenka was on the flight with cases , she was 14 days stuck in hotel room , i'd say that didn't help her preparations.

Couple of big names are out of AO, more big names than big on current form, Kvitova and Venus Williams in womens and Stan Wavrinka in mens. Halep struggled against Tomljanovic, Muguruza also went through. Too early to call anything

Kudos to Dominic Thiem for beating Nick "Big Mouth, Twitter Warrior" Kyrgios, 3:2 in sets, undoubtedly he will turn his attentions to slagging of other players, tournament and who knows who/what else.
Dmitrov, Zverev, Lajovic, Raonic all make it through, not too many surprises in mens.
Osaka, Swiatek, Halep, S. Williams and Muguruza all into next round in womens.
