If they truly are interested in stopping traffickers then we would all support this, but I fear they will go for the easy option, the client.

That is a very big IF. I do believe that all posters here would support them if it meant targeting traffickers and pimps, not going for the soft option of targeting clients.
    Hello darkness my old friend.....

How long before they go the way of the vice squads in America entrapping clients?
I fear they are just going to force things underground and put the vulnerable girls at more risk.

It's like making cars illegal to stop speeding.

There were laws making trafficking illegal.
There was no need to force the warped morality of the evil nuns of the Magdeline Laundries.

    This is about control.
The control of older women over men.
Take away the possibility of sex with a younger woman and this give back control to ugly old bags that neglected their husbands for 20 years and then wondered why he strayed.
Courts are the same, and the Garda, it's all in favour of women. Guilty of everything until proven innocent and then men still pay.

Anyone claiming escorts are expensive never fell out with a wife.

This was a long time coming and as has been said, I'm all for it going after the pimps and traffickers, but the Guards here always go after the easy targets.

Although it's encouraging to see a few set ups busted this week.

What a true statement , I could have 2 overnights a month for what I'm paying, and my kids have their own homes so no dependents

Just because they are Romanian does not mean they are pimps etc, just like saying Irish can't be pimps.

The big case in the news seems to involve a couple who rented numerous apartments and sub let them. No mention of pimping in the media from what I have seen.

    Let's look at the offences

1 Using a false ID to rent the apartment
2 Using a false prove of address for apartment
3 Using a false PPS no for apartment
4 Operating a business without planning permission
5 Failing to keep proper books of accounts
6 Using false ID to open a bank account
7 Using false proof of address to open bank account
8 Using a false PPS number to open a bank account
9 Failure to register for income tax
10 Failure to make annual returns each year

NOw multiply those offences for each apartment they operated so 7 apartments could easily be 70 chargeable offences

Why would you need to commit offences 4 through 10 for each apartment? At most you would only repeat the first three offences for each apartment.

But honestly if all the agencies were stopped and as clients we were left with perhaps 60 or so escorts at most advertising on E-I, would we really be so cool about that?

Don't be fooled by the rhetoric

the true end game here is the complete annihilation of escorting,
personal rights of said escorts be-damned
