What’s everyone’s view of the incident in Clonee yesterday? Were the Gardaí justified in their actions?

Yes 100%...things are getting out of hand recently everywhere and this guy went nuts with a knife earlier in a shop,you only have to look online of videos posted recently of things getting out of hand

I have no pity and understand they used non lethal force first but I don’t understand why they can’t shoot in locations that won’t kill. Easy way out when he should be locked up for life

There trained to aim for the body. It's called the centre body mass bigger target..easy to say aim for the leg or am but if a guy is coming you with a knife you go for the biggest easy target to take them down quickly.

Wonder what everyones reaction would have been if we had something like the paris or london attacks. They tried to and it didnt work. Would the story end better with a guard being stabbed ?

Saw a good tweet on this earlier which pretty much sums up my feelings....

You can hold the view that something someone does is wrong, harmful, criminal etc while also holding the view that they shouldnt die. You can also have empathy for all impacted by the events while also asserting the belief somebody should not die. Seriously like.
