    Question Slangs!

What kind of interesting slangs do you know which you may use, but not elsewhere in the rest of the Ireland or the UK?

One line I use that I got from my father, if I was to say to somebody, 'Do you have 10 Bob?', that person is unlikely going to know what I mean.
In this case, I am asking for 50 pence.

Another my father (from Carrickfergus) would say, 'How you diddling?'
    Meaning: How are you?

In London, some will say 'Apples and Pears'.
    Meaning: Up the stairs.

In Lancashire (where I'm from), we would say 'Ova yonder'
    Meaning: Over there.

Share some of your interesting slangs.
    It's fun.

But do not use these to attack users on here please.
Do that out on the streets

Better than a slap in the face with a wet fish.
When I left home I had to stop saying this, I had to explain it so often.

A 'tom' job... meaning an easy job... eg; if a tradesman got a handy job which paid well and required little work he'd call it a 'tom' job.........

Last last one !!......... To 'root around' in Ireland usually means to search for something in your house, or 'root around' in a market, antique shop etc. Many years ago in Australia I realised that to 'root around' meant to play the ladies and basically f**k around........Big surprise on the face of my host when I told him I was going to have a 'root around' Sydney...

    Shoddy job
    a bit Heath Robinson
Basically a Rubbish piece of work..
