Maybe some pretend to negotiate just to see her personality. If she is mean, then walk. If she is polite, then say it was only a test and then pay full rate.

Sometimes you need to test people, like if you were to hire a cleaning lady then you pretend to loss some money and if it is missing then you know she is a traitor or if its still there it means she wasn't doing her job. She must return it to you to show loyalty. I read about how people did that in the past

if i was an escort and someone with your attitude arrived at my door I would become a murderer also, what a horrible way to treat anyone. Someone unhappy with the prices I quote them in my business is politely directed towards a cheaper provider and their number blocked.

Sometings I haggle. Buying a car, furniture, insurance. But never with a persons value.
I might sometimes have to tell a tradesperson that I can't afford him, sometimes if he wants the work he might agree to do the job for less but almost certainly he is then going to try to cut corners.

Agree 100% with purchasing a car or insurance etc, but never a trades person, and as you say you negotiate a discount, you get a lower level of service. Certainly it's acceptable to say to say a landscape gardener, I don't have the budget for that, but what would so much get me. That is reasonable and they will suggest what your money will buy,

So the person selling the car, furniture, insurance or tradesperson doesn't have a value, doesn't have to earn a living too ?

My builder tried to stiff me with
A 9000 K overrun on a fixed price extension
To my house blaming me for uping the spec
Eventually we settled on two and half K
Do not tell me he hasn’t inflating the bill in the hope
That I’d just cut a cheque
Pay a fair price for a good job
Don’t be a mug though
