You bet it was expensive as fuck. She used to work in a cabaret and he used to get champagne to sit with her (that's the way you get to sit with one) and not let anyone else sit, and they weren't allowed to go out except with clients who'd pay half a day to take them out, so that's how he used to get to go out with her, that and not taking into consideration the costs of going out, lunches, dinners, hotels, movies, etc..
