    Default Brazil - Rio - places to stay?

    Hi all. I'm planning a new year's trip to Rio for about 5 days. I've been looking on air BnB for places to stay and almost every one of them has security or a door guy.

    I like my privacy. Has anyone got any experience with renting a place without this?

    I don't wanna stay at those love motels.

    Anyway, if you could DM me with any places that would be great!

    The security /door guy is there for a good reason.

    Personally as a visitor I would not stay anywhere without one - when travelling abroad (especially in South America) I usually try & make friends with the security / door guy by giving them a good tip at the start of my stay (they usually check with you before they let any of your guests leave the premises).
