Since when are convicted punters put on the sex offenders list, I haven't heard of that aspect of the law before.
Can somebody with knowledge of the law confirm this is the case/ a possibility, it sounds insane beyond belief!

I don't have any legal qualifications but I do believe that this might be a possibility if caught visiting an underage or a trafficked and/or coerced victim as it could be prosecuted as rape.
But I'm fairly certain that it doesn't apply to sex between consenting adults.

Agreed but I deliberately worded it as "could be prosecuted as rape" because the law is an ass. I've been told that some coerced victims have been prosecuted for prostitution and/or brothel keeping.

Ireland is a complete farce in dealing with this but after Covid19 You will see a big tightening up on the Law in place in Ireland as in the rest of Europe there big changes coming
