It would be great if employers would teach staff how to wear masks.
I've just come from shopping in my local Aldi and for the first time ever, I've cleaned my shopping with disinfectant wipes when I got home.
The girl at the checkout touched her mask at least 16 times while I was queuing. (4 people in queue including myself)
Each time she touched that mask she was possibly contaminating her hands/her mask/customers shopping. There was hand sanitised at her station but she never used it once. That is until I asked her to sanitise her hands before touching my shopping. She then sanitised the palms and back of her hands and her wrists, with no effort to do her fingertips or between her fingers.

My wife caught me wearing ladies underwear and threatened to leave me.
So I packed up all her clothes
    And left.

You are being over conscientious about touch here. This is primarily spread by breathing. So you can disinfect what you want whilst in the shop, that would not stop you from inhaling the virus. You could wear a mask, but even that doesnt work a hundred percent. If someone farted near you, you could still smell it even wearing a mask, which shows how the particles can still get in.

I don't think it should really be about "have to". Just keep it simple, pull on a mask when you are going in to a shop.

Once somebody breathes through a mask, their own germs are on that mask. Not just talking corona but all forms of microbial life. Touching the mask and then touching surfaces that others touch, spreads disease.

Michael Osterholm in one of his videos said you would have to be very unlucky to get it by touch. Someone would literally have to cough a load of goo onto a surface and then you would have to touch it and swallow what you touch and even then you may just swallow down into your stomach.

It is the same with the flu which is why it is so effective at transmission, because it spreads by breathing. If you are in a compact area, with a high concentration, that is where you will catch it. Even wearing a mask will not suffice in such a scenario. In China they wear masks as part of culture and it still spread like wildfire there.

The whole world caught onto this whole touch thing. I think part of the reason is that they just cannot bear the fact that they could catch it simply by going into a shop. It is logic really. We could contain it if it only spread by touch. A weakness in our armoury is the fact that we have to burn oxygen because that is how these viruses get in. That and mosquitos.

Note. I said I was not just referring to corona virus. I've worked in infection control. Masks can help diseases spread if not worn properly.
Again, I am not just talking about covid19.

What’s the big issue with masks?, just wear them, even if you’re not worried about your own health, just put one on, there’s no downside to wearing one
