The protests are for more then just one man's Murder. George Floyd was just the final straw. You don't like what's he's done and don't like the protests for his death. Think of the protests for being for the others that had the same faith.
Some names for you to look up: Trayvon Martin,
    Tamir Rice,
    Breonna Taylor,
    Philando Castle,
    Antony Hill,
    Oscar Grant,
    Eric Garner,
    Atatiana Jefferson,
    Yvette Smith.
That's just some of the names, many more that haven't been named. It's so much more then just 1 death.

This is a good point, I agree with you, I think we should march for those people, but it was all in the name of George, the murals painted in Dublin etc is just disturbing to me.

BLM is not true when some lives matter more than others and that is obvious, I don't see people marching for David Dorn? Or the black community speaking about how black on black crime is very high, Iyanna Dior, a transgendered woman beaten by a group of black men. Not all black lives are equal.

    1. Movement is called Black Lives Matter because in the past their lives did not

    2. Justice is meant to be blind , summary execution based on ones past is not on, be careful what you wish for

    3. Interesting that the victims past is focused on and not the killer especially seeing as the Killer is a person who has sworn to uphold the law .

    4. It seems that the Black Community should wait for the right candidate to be murdered , no need to explain that one

    5. This is not just about justice, poloce brutality and murder it is about the oppression of people . I have been to the Southern States , I have seen the deprivation

    6. Those who complain about breaches of Covid . I see no thread on the massive breaches in Galway, Spanish Arch etc, I see no thread on reports from North Dublin, I see no threads on house parties in Cork and of course on this site we do not have an elephant in the room we have A Mammoth , I see no thread . Interesting

    7. We have one poster on this thread who is puerile looking for attention like a spoilt child throwing food on the floor, not the brightest tool in the book. Ignore looks a good plan.

    8. I regret this is happening in a Pandemic but I fully understand why. Try putting yourself in the shoes of people of colour. A bit easy to condemn being white and Irish INIT

To all of those in favor of the protests being allowed I must ask.

What percentage of an increase in infections and deaths would deem these mass gatherings worh while ?

How many people are you willing to sacrifice for your posturing ?

It is said that George and Derek knew each other for a very long time, I wonder if Derek knew about all the crimes George committed and this was his way of punishing George, I don't know if this murder was racially motivated anymore, not after what I've seen George has done

I could die anyday. I could be giving birth in front of doctors who hold hi."ppocrates oath far below the thinking " black folk don't feel pain the same way we do."
It could be in the arch of a doorway because I don't know my tennant rights, rights denied to me by unregistered but otherwise sound ladlords who don't think I'm deserving of that same civility.
I could die, like my mate Blessing's mother, from an undiagnosed tumor passed off as something I could walk off by a doctor who (see point 1)
I could suffer at the hands of an abusive partner but find no help because, should he be black, "what did you expect?"
I could (and have) suffer malnutrition because employer after employer wants to "look after their own first" no matter what it says on their birth certificate.

Everywhere I go , the moment I stepmout ofpreconcieved notions ,some of which I have utilised to sell my services: I am a threat.

You ever have a bunch of E. europeans bent on smearing you because they think the fact you've a room somewhere a threat?
You ever turn to your fellow Irish girls expecting camaradarie and instead discover one has projected her drug use and disrespect for house furnishings on to you?

If there is a right time for protest then it is no protest, rather stater sanctioned theatre. Do not offer your condolences then tell me that's rain on my back my dear.

Apologies for typos. I'm feeling some kinda way

    and Loki, I forgive you.
What if "It's Raining Men" and 'Let the bodies hit the floor' are both about the same event but from different perspectives 🤔
