Default VR Kit arriving this week

Finally got an email to say its on its way so looking forward to trying it all out at last.

Its the Oculus Rift system with 2 hand paddles.

Any recommendations on what downloads to get from any of you with experience of VR?

Of course I'll try a bit of porn to see what its like but anything else you recommend - roller coasters appeals to me.

Half-Life: Alyx. Goes without saying. I'm tempted to buy a new PC + VR headset just to experience this game. Also check out Boneworks on youtube That's about the extent of my knowledge unfortunately.

Are VR on PC actually any good? I have never thought about getting a VR kit.

As jre679 siad, I would more likely need a new PC too, as my home PC is around 8/9 years old, which has been updated a little, but too old to support many of the latest software.
It uses DDR2 ram for feck sake

You're not too far behind me Floki. My PC is about 6 year old and DDR3 Both overdue an upgrade so may as well spec it for VR. Obviously Half-Life: Alyx interests me but i'm also an avid sim racer and most PC racing sims support VR. For yourself you'd need to do some research and find some games you like. I have a 3 game rule before i buy any new console/PC. Has served me well in the past.

Was thinking to get one for a relaxation virtual experience after I subscribed to an app with sounds of nature ..amazing. But to feel u are there..to see the waterfall and hear the water sound or to navigate in a tropical forest virtual and hear the heavy rain ...what a bliss. Probably I don't need a VR very performant like yours .can u recommend me any model of VR? I will not play games just the 3d experience of being in the midlle of nature just for meditation and relaxation purpose. Thanks

Tried to set it up but my hardware is not hi spec enough so have given it to a friend of mine who is into gaming and he is trying it on his current machine to see how well it runs there and then will let me know what to buy for myself to run it.
