Pressure has increased on the Government to require that face masks be worn routinely by the public to contain the Covid-19 virus, in line with a change in scientific opinion in favour of the measure.

Scientists and TDs have called for the change based on indication that basic face masks in social settings can prevent the spread of coronavirus.

    Hi Stephanie.
Have you done any reading up on when a possible return to some sort of “normality” will return to our lives.
I don’t like the sound of it, but it looks like it won’t be until about 60 % of us have been exposed to COVID19 and develop some sort of immunity or resistance to it.
The WHO keep pointing out that COVID19 will be with us for sometime, which begs the question, that maybe, until the vast majority of the population get exposed to it, and develop some sort of immunity to it, there will be no return to life as we were (nearly)used to returning.
In the cases of high risk individuals there is a definite reason for the use of a face mask, but the scary reality might be that the general population may have to be exposed to this dangerous virus before we can see some sort of “normality” returning to our lives.
Unfortunately COVID19 is not going to disappear anyway soon, and until there is a vaccine, which may be 12 or 18 months, or even 5 years, we may have to live with the bloody thing.

My point is that wearing a mask might possibly slow the virus up too much.

I realise I could be completely wrong, but every time I read a different article, it seems in some way to contradict something I have previously read in some shape or form.

PS. Don’t inject any disinfect like that Half-wit in the (W)Shite House suggests.
