I wouldn't bet on that sir. I think the lockdown will end long before the virus is gone.

Big events like that where tens of thousands of people are mixing will definitely be cancelled. There will probably be no sporting events or concerts ect for the rest of the year.

No big fan of the Donald or his inept response to this virus.
    Still, as of today.
Death rate per million of population.

    USA : 128 deaths/1M
    Ireland : 139 deaths/1M

That said US will probably surpass us by the end of the week.

It will be interesting to see how this eventually settles in relation to stats

However whatever about death rates per million I know where I do not want to be. In a country where its leader behaves like a child fighting with reporters and governors driving a partisan agenda , thats bad enough but now we have that Asshole actively prompting defiance in Democrat states with idiots armed . That we do not have thankfully. Trump is an absolute disgrace .

Whatever else Varadkar has shown v strong leadership during this, so I for one v glad not to be a health worker in Michigan for example.

Don't know how much you can read in the numbers. All countries seem to be counting them differently. UK are only confirmed hosp deaths. We are counting all, including suspected deaths in nursing homes. Only 51% of our deaths were hosp deaths. But I think our leaders are doing a great job, and I must say the ordinary people are showing great resilience in following the lockdown. You won't see protests here insisting on the lockdown finishing or a leader supporting them. Had a trip booked for the US during the summer, but wouldn't take the risk, even if flights open up again.
