    It's very difficult to attain a firearms license here , that's a good thing . I wouldn't like to see Ireland ending up with as many guns per head of population as America.

    It wouldn't bother me if someone had an assault rifle instead of a handgun. In fact someone walking around with an assault rifle is less likely to be a criminal as high powered rifles are hard to hide and thus they get caught

    Sure, they just shoot 50, 100 people before they get caught.

    Really? How many mass shootings have you heard about where the shooter had a handgun?
