They're a militant shower of feckers at the best of times when it comes to the collection of fines.

I couldn't have put it better myself. My last post on this issue, I think.

With on the spot fines its pay on time, or the amount increases. Think there are 2 stages of price increase and if not paid by set time its off to court.
In the current climate, I'd be keeping all communications in writing, asking for leniency and take my chances of meeting an understanding judge.

You'd hope common sense would prevail but....

Heard a story about an Irish nurse who came back here from Britain to help in this crisis.

They're charging her 500 euro to register as a nurse here.

Some of these feckers are just to anal to budge on any issue.

The British Army blew up the border roads here but we still found a way round.

I was up north a few times in the 80s. Saw some of what you're talking about. Tried to pick my own route home from Donegal once. I remember thinking that we had bigger potholes down south.

I grew up through the whole thing so I knew nothing different. Whatever obstacles they put in our way we soon found away around it. Sure it used to be great Craic driving through the fields !
