Other life forms may exist in the universe as a whole. But unless they have mastered using worm holes to travel between stars and galaxies, there is no hope of them visiting us.

I once read that even if we could travel the speed of light, 97% of stars in the universe would not be reachable. They are simply too far away, even travelling at the speed of light.

I'm sure we would have heard about that in the news, but maybe I missed it? Do you have anything to show us as evidence?

I'd have thought that would be a big enough story to even knock corona virus off the headlines for a few days.

Maybe they could help us with the cure? Or maybe they caused it and released it in order to get us out of the way so they can take over?

We are truly locked down here on Planet Earth.
At the speed of light it would take 8 mins to reach the nearest star. That is our own sun. The next star is 4 light years away. The nearest major galaxy to us is 2.5 million light years away. Even if we had the Star-trek Enterprise we wouldn't be allowed to go under the government restrictions.
And to think we complain about having to travel fifty or more miles to see an escort.....

Interstellar travel is, in terms of physics "difficult". Which makes it is technically, theoretically possible, but in practice it is beyond our current capabilities.

That said, we have a probe - voyager - which is on an interstellar journey as we speak.


Who knows what will be discovered in the future, it might be possible but even then it would likely be "difficult" and very impractical.

As for the existence of aliens, this is quite likely in the grand scheme of things but the fact we have yet conclusive proof off them visiting us implies that they have not as yet cracked interstellar travel either.

Or we're just not interesting enough for a visit.

Or we're too dangerous.
