New York State now has the most cases of any place in the world, surpassing Spain.

Overall death rate in America is 4%. Although i imagine it is lower because there would be people who are asymptomatic who are not confirmed as infected.

This is the problem. It is hard to get reliable figures. The overall death rate should be the same world-wide, but there are discrepancies. The experts put this down to the way information is being collected. Hard to keep an accurate count under the circumstances. It is expected that, not until it has subsided, will there be accurate figures.

A bbc article put it at between 0.5% and 1%. Not as bad but still high. Seasonal flu is 0.01% i think.

In one month covid19 has killed more in america than last years flu.

Yea a lot of nonsense. Dr Oz is telling everyone that chloroquine is the next best thing. But other people are saying it does nothing.

Whatever about the stats , and they will vary all over the world as each country measures differing things , the reality is that the cities/states with high population densities where people live in shared appartment blocks (think shared lifts , shared lobbies etc) will have a higher rate of infection that distributed areas.

In Ireland Dublin hardly comes close to a high density city , the rest of the country is low density in comparison .

The death rate in Italy is about 10 percent. But they are only testing people who are struck down with the virus badly. There is probably lots of people in italy that were never tested who had it, which would bring down the death rate.

Germany and SK are doing lots of tests and hence the low death rate.
