From what I've read they just don't know whether there will be a seasonal effect or not but they expect if there is it still not be as significant as for other illnesses.

"I don't know" is the answer to most questions because there has not been enough time to collect data. Other virus of the same type have been less severe in warmer weather, but it is not known for sure what effect, if any, it has on this virus.

The main reason for the lockdown is not to save lives, because a lot of people will get the virus anyhow, but to prevent everyone becoming infected at the same time and overwhelming services. Of, course, if services become swamped, it will cost lives because of the way it will impact on medical services.

Sweden's attitude is to allow the virus to run its course. They have a good health service. It will be interesting to see how they cope. It is acknowledged to be a policy that has risks.

no willie, why do you think that most flu/viruses appear in the wintertime/cold weather
this is still a virus and like all viruses the spread is slowed by the warmer weather conditions

In times like this, eat and do whatever you want, I myself will be eating easter eggs all day, in nothing but my underwear watching the simpsons.

Not sure CV19 is adhering to the norms of slowing warmer weather. Look at Australia where it was over 40c only a few weeks ago and now its under siege like the rest of us .

People spend more time inside in enclosed spaces in cold weather. That's why infections spread more in winter.
