Locking people into their own county makes little sense. A friend of mine tells me that legally he can no longer go to his local shop, even though he can see it from his house, because it's in a different county. The nearest shop in his own county is 8 miles away.
To anyone that doesn't like me here.
I hope you need to pee 3 times tonight, but that you only wake up twice.

They had the good sense before to say 'In your county or up to 10km".

No idea why they changed that common sense approach to deal with county borders.
And Dr. B said... nothing, you idiots!
Dr. B's dead, he's locked in my basement!

There is no actual legal requirement for anyone not to leave their county or to travel anywhere you like. The Guards can only advise you of the guidelines & encourage you to stay within the county. As long as your car is legal & you haven’t committed any other offense you are perfectly entitled to carry on your journey.

I have read the latest letter from NPHET - the advise NPHET gives to the government are available here

Unfortunately Level 3 is just a holding position - I would not be surprised if the whole country ends up in level 4/5 in 4 weeks time

We need to develop a strategy for dealing with Covid long-term.

    There should be no lockdown.
Encourage social distancing with no eroding or denial of civil rights.

Exactly. Strategy in long term is important. Locking down every a few months won’t help. Will just destroy people and economy.

They are pushing to change this.
Pushing to take away your constitutional rights.

    Using Covid as an excuse

At the risk of seems like a conspiracy theorist, this is a real concern

Totally agree with you on that.
Any move to take the freedom to travel when & where you like away from people will be a very dark day in this country’s history. The same as the push for a cashless society. It seems as if Covid is being used as an excuse for anything at the moment.

Our right to travel has to be balanced against the right of the vulnerable to be protected by the state.

also hating this push to prevent our free country travel. a dark day in our history the direction we seem to be taking, I agree with the poster above,

what really irks me is the do gooders in the media pushing for the law and order on this, even guards and politicians are saying give the people a chance to comply of their own accord.

    comply within reason,
as long as being responsible visiting friends and family on occasion outside ones county should be a basic right
