For me if I am looking for something specific travel is not a problem and totally worth my time, energy and expense as the journey is only the beginning ... Some times it is not a question of "how far" but "how much trouble" or "how much time"
Dublin, for example, is well-served by motorways and good roads but closer destinations may not. Also, is there public transport there, or parking if travelling by car?

Personally I love to travel and find it rewarding and educational and a great experience. Currently Azerbaijan is next on my list.
