I think the reason he doesn't want to use his cards is to be discreet, a bank transfer could not be more public ))

Use a card to reserve the room with a booking.com account using a different email address and enter a wrong expiry date incase they try charge the card.
Then as previously posted pay cash on arrival.

I use a place out near the airport, a large b&b. You have to check with him early afternoon that he has empty rooms. I ring from the carpark and he tells me the room number. So I go straight to the room, with my companion. When finished I leave the cash on the bedside locker. He just asks you to text him before you leave, just in case the security man is at the desk. I usually leave 40e for a few hours. If you want his number just PM me.

The guy giving the rooms wants to be discrete, it's a sideline for him and he doesn't want the owner or other workers there to know. Suits me with paying him cash.

You can purchase a swirl card from specific convience stores for
6 Euros, I have a few .
No name , no number etc .
Every top up is 2.99.
If you have no availabile funds you can still use the card to making the booking and
Pay at the hotel . Cash in full amount .
I’ve only been asked a deposit 4 times in 2 years .
Liffey valley , airport area and a 5 star in Limerick.

The majority don’t require deposit
