First race would to follow the track as normal, then the next race would to go back on the track.

This way they can still race the same amount of races scheduled.
But of course this is just an idea.
A greater chance of me winning the escort of the month competition than of that happening. I imagine the race will just not go ahead this year and indeed if this virus spreads any further it might not be the only sporting event that there will be doubts about taking place.
    The Truth is out there.

They can't race backwards for safety reasons. FIA would never allow it. However a double-header is a good idea. Indy car has done this the last few years and i always look forward to that particular weekend. Having a full distance race on Saturday and Sunday is a great feeling. A double-header at Montreal would go down a treat

I think it must be possible that more than the Chinese GP will be threatened. Big money involved and no-one will want to see races cancelled but a lot of other sport fixtures are in doubt now.

Formula One now has a “crisis cell” that is to meet every two days! to discuss any changes.

The Vietnam Grand Prix on 5 April appears to be in doubt.

Vietnam has imposed a 14-day quarantine period on any travellers from Italy who enter the country. This would lead to the cancellation of the Grand Prix.
Bahrain has a similar policy but has eased its restrictions for people working at the Grand Prix. Italians, and anyone who have travelled through high-risk countries in the previous 14 days, will face extra screening on arrival but will be allowed into the country if they are given a clean bill of health.

Formula One is trying to arrange a similar situation with Vietnam but has so far not been successful.

Bahrain Grand Prix still to go ahead on 22 March, but it will be "participants only". There will be no spectators.
