Its very good to do something for someone and not get recognition for it. I like opening doors for people that's just me. If you don't help anyone you can't expect your life to change.

I always hold a door, not to get a thank you but I have to admit it absolutely boils my piss if somone just waltzes right by without as much as a head nod. Basic manners in my book.
