Well them and the face mask manufacturers !
Dettol appears to be selling well.

    Quote from World Health Organisation,

"Based on data from 44,000 patients with this coronavirus, the WHO says:

    81% develop mild symptoms
    14% develop severe symptoms
    5% become critically ill

The proportion dying from the disease, which has been named Covid-19, appears low (between 1% and 2%) - but the figures are unreliable.

Thousands are still being treated but may go on to die - so the death rate could be higher. But it is also unclear how many mild cases remain unreported - so the death rate could also be lower.

To put this into context, about one billion people catch influenza every year, with between 290,000 and 650,000 deaths. The severity of flu changes every year."

In other words, just another cold-type disease. A lot of the problems are being caused by the media frenzy around it and peoples reaction to it. Media causes a panic, people want more information, the media provides it and makes more money.

I suspect after this initial shock-panic phase ( if death rate stays low enough ) ,

this too will just become an endemic disease - so long it does not mutate ,

humans should be able to build up resistance to it .

However if it acts like the yearly Flu and mutates year to year , locale to locale .. ,

now That shall be a different dance altogether .
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

if your immune system is low or have underlying problems you are at risk,
The world is changing and something more menacing is at work here with humankind

: California ! : first case of C19 infection confirmed - that they Cannot trace to Any travel . Think on that !

: US has an idiotic ginger menace for President .

: Iran has spread of infection that they cannot control nor even explain .

Sure , sure to be sure , surely it could still be turned around ?

: In Italy vacationers’ TOURIST season coming up .

Towns are deserted , no customers , no visitors . Economy already was on shaky legs .

Who said this thing could affect the world ?

: and we haven’t even touched on Africa !

Btw , they have reported First Case in Southern America - with its stalwart medical system

sure no probs . Right ?
Im off to California next week for 2 weeks. I thought I was getting away from the virus, instead I’m heading towards it!

Amazing the way a sub microscopic piece of RNA can wreak such havoc!

It's health care workers that are in the front line of this, they see many sick people daily, some possibly infected, who knows, if they become incapacitated for a few weeks then there are a lot of unknown unknowns.

IMHO, if there was a confirmed case in a hospital, as opposed to a suspected case, they would have to report it. Mainly because they cannot contain it (the news, not the virus) and if there is one thing a public/civil servant wants to protect above all else, it's their job. Keeping that stum would be impossible, and there is always someone ready to stab you in the back to take your place....
    I hear ya .

But why would one lie ? I see no reason .

You are correct it would have to be reported : however at the government’s ‘request’ they may be

    obliged not to . ?

The patient is an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria and flew into the commercial city of Lagos from Milan on 25 February.

I have no doubt that there is a patient in quarantine in that hospital.
There usually is, but for a whole host of other reasons than Covid-19.
