Default Help please it seems people / business are getting phone calls from my number

Help please what I can do?

I get angry calls that my number rang some business 15 times in a couple of minutes - I am not using my phone at all to make such calls.

That's obviouysly some scam or dodgy business going on.

    Any advice ???

    Thanks,

Someone may of cloned your number, either contact your provider or get a new number x
P.s you need to make sure you are not being charged for the calls x

    Thanks honey

I don't think I can be charged for the calls since I am not making them. My phone provider cannot do anything since again, the phones are not made from me / their network.

Getting a new number seem like a solution, the thing is that my regulars all have my current number and even if I change how am I going to know those clone number people won't do it again

I was wondering if there is something else before I change the number.

    Thanks,
There are a number of options that could have happened

    1) Your number could have been cloned

    2) You could have accessed a corrupt app on your phone and this allowed those calls to be made

Contact your network if you havent already done so and ask to speak to the technical department. Get them to look at your number.

Also if possible get your phone examined as the virus could be on the phone and not the number

    Hope this helps

Amy if your number has been cloned you could well be paying for them, its best to speak to your provider x

Maybe use a different phone with same sim card, that would tell if the phone is making the calls because of an app

Also can you block the number its ringing on your phone ?

One thing to try is looking at the apps on your phone, and removing all non-mainstream ones, especially ones you don't recognise.

Apps can make calls, but if this is happening it would normally show up in your call history unless they are very sophisticated.

You should also consider installing an anti-virus app.

By the way, if the phone has something dodgy on it, changing the number probably won't solve the problem.

    Good luck!

I have already done that, the only app I had recently installed was Blockaded, as freaking private numbers kept calling each minute.

Of course I have checked call history and such before, nothing was made from my phone, my number was cloned and according to the net some malitious soft is making such calls displaying my number.

They cannot take anything from my credit as I am on a 20 euro top up a month, which is utilised in full to allow me free calls and texts monthly.

What I think those scams do is make people answer the call when a "normal" number is calling and they might get charged instead.

Absolutely nightmare and really nothing helps unless I change my number but I'll wait a bit. Today nobody complained my phone rang them so fingers crossed those feckers got caught.

Thank you all for input and help, if you hear any such similar stories and solutions will be nice to hear them

P.S. On my regular phone, I received yesterday phone calls from very official landline numbers.
They rang exactly 15 seconds - you can tell it's a software making the call. I blocked every such number calling but I am afraif I might block someone who genuinely has to call me )
