Speaking as someone who exclusively works from hotels, there's never an empty corridor. Mornings are busy with guests coming and going, housekeeping making up rooms for longer stay guests, after 12 they're rushing to make up all the rooms of those just checked out before 2 or 3 o'clock when next guests will be checking in, after 3 they're still knocking about finishing off the rooms that aren't booked yet. New guests are turning up.

I've never had any issues yet, smile at the other people around or just look like you know where you're going or what you're doing. I've seen plenty of other guests where families staying in a few different rooms will be knocking on the other doors and waiting for their daughters or brothers or whatever to open the door for them

Wearing a Priests outfit works too, no one suspects him to be up to no good.

There's always plenty of people there so i'd say you'd be pretty unlucky for someone to bother asking what your doing there.

Thanks guys so far for the comments, I’ll be sure to keep them in mind for my next trip to a hotel.
