Default Meeting escorts & the law: what is the simple answer

Can someone please give a simple answer to what the laws are in Southern and Northern Ireland regarding meeting Escorts. Is it totally illegal, or are there any loopholes?

I think there is something regarding two escorts working in the same apartment, perhaps this constitutes a brothel??

The world is full of debates about free choice. If a lady chooses to freely work as an escort, should it not be up to her what she chooses to do, or not to do?
The legalization of prostitution would bring greater control regarding health checks, safer working conditions and more protection in the law for escorts.

I totally understand that something has to be done to stamp out human trafficking and street prostitution, but if consenting adults freely enter into a respectful service agreement and the escort is working independently of her own freewill, it should be left to both parties involved to get on with it.

    Totally illegal i'm afraid.

It does not matter if the escort is independent and working alone, sharing with another escort etc. Minimize the risk by doing your homework in advance and visiting independent escorts.

A prostitute provides sex for money, an escort provides companionship for money which is paying someone to hang out with you. Some men just go to an escort and talk and cuddle and no sex. Of course the escorts here know that if their companionship service does not include sex, no one will go to see them.

People here say escorting is illegal but technically paying your mother to go to the shops with you is escorting. What they mean is prostitution is illegal.

You may notice that any experienced client does not mention anything sexual over the phone and it is like making an appointment with a hair dresser

Its like crossing the road - Its risky - People get killed crossing the road

You can reduce the risk of getting killed by only crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing

It's against the law to pay for sex. No big deal. It's against the law to be drunk in a public place too. You are highly unlikely to get arrested for either offence, and if you do, plus get a conviction, pay the fine and move on. As long as your conscience is clear that you are not paying for a trafficked lady then f**k the law, it's ridiculous and nothing to be ashamed of.

Some people have more to lose than others and wouldn't want their name in the paper being one of the example cases, so it's certainly put me off my usual habits.

If it hasn't made you more careful and to think twice, frankly, that means you are an idiot.

Why dont ei show a commitment to us all, maybe a sticky thread with raid updates or such. Rather than burying the threads, pretending to not be bothered and leaving poor fools to go get caught in the act. Might even be po po here or working with some ladies they have dirt or a previous conviction on.

Man I get really aggravated when I cant get no, satisfaction

Rubbish. If your are caught in an escorts apartment or leaving her apartment you are done. Simple as that. Forget that nonsense that the Gardai have to prove you paid for a sexual act. Why else were you there?
People need to cop on and stop living in fairy land
