Yes, if you have any equipment capable of receiving a tv signal you need a licence but 1 licence per household I think.

I do indeed remember the Black and White TV's, I also remember being the remote control when my Father would tap me on the back of the head saying 'Change the Channel' and we only had 2 channels at the time

And if you have a colour set you must have a colour licence. Same applies to tablets. 160 euro. Anyone remember black and white tellys?
