Default Best Movie of The Year

Looks like The Irishman going take it for me with The Joker coming in second but at 3 and half hours long you need to stack up on the chips and plenty of coke to get you through it.

The Standoff at Sparrow Creek gets my vote, well made movie dealing with some very current topics isolated lonely men/mass shootings/American gun control.

Think 'Reservoir Dogs' if Fincher had directed it.

The Irishman is very good. A bit long but i think it has to be. I would not say its his best since Goodfellas. Casino, The Departed, The wolf of Wall Street were all very good as well. But for a three and a half hour film, the irishman is watchable. You wont be bored.

Think the deaging failed though in that they did not deage them enough. They looked old when i think they were meant to look younger.

Joe Pesci is the best thing in it. Very witty film, almost like a black comedy.

Harvey Keitel and Bobby Canavale only have small roles though. Keitel only has a two minute scene in the whole film.

I think Scorsese like Goodfellas and The Departed is at pains to emphasize that crime always ends badly for those involved.
