Default Joker movie and the violence in the media argument.

So the Joker movie will be out soon and already critic’s and journalists are asking the question will this movie make you commit violent acts.
I really thought this argument had been put to bed but it seems that once again it has came to be the topic of discussion.

Watching violent media and playing violent video games in my opinion does not make you want to commit violent acts. Heres what the Joker star Joaquin Phoenix had to say.

Comes up time and time again. I remember when kill bill came out it raised its head again.

Same old argument. I don't believe movies, TV or games drive anyone to violence
Seems this argument will never end. Easier to blame a movie than point the finger at the real problems

Thats the way i see it also. Movies and video games have 15 year old and 18 year old certificates for a reason.
I blame the parents not the content. If you expose a child to violent content its a crapshoot how they might turn out.

I have watched 18 rated movies from a very young age and never had the urge to fight or kill.

I am not saying it is true, but I do think that music does inspire some people to violence.
All you need to do is to look at these so called gangsta's killing each other.
Kids copy of gangstas as they think it is cool to act like 10 men.

However, most of the violence comes from the ignorance and laziness of the parents.
I have seen parents taking their kids to the park, but only to ignore them while they sit and playing on their phones and ipads.

Some parents think that giving a child something expensive, like an ipad is good parenting as it keeps them quiet.
But this only changes their attitude and by this happening, the kids will use this against the parents and start becoming little bastards.

Plus people are too scared to punish their kids, because of emotions and they are also afraid of looking like a bad parent in the views of other people.

Yeah same here. I watched loads of video nasties growing up and i turned out alright, i think
I remember ted bundy blaming porn for his compulsion to rape and kill. I think its a cop out tbf.
Ted bundy hated women because he found out in later life that his sister was really his mother and his dad was really his grandad.

People are responsible for their own actions, it's unfortunate that when you group enough of us together we forget that and look for the lazy solution.

Haha, Goodbye Uncle Tom is often cited on places like /pol and other alt-right safe places. I might as well watch it. Cheers
