  1. Default How likely is it for a raid to happen on a massage salon?

Going to one soon, for a first time. Really looking forward to it (it's a real massage salon with a few extra services). I'm assuming i'm safe even if i''m stopped afterwards because they do provide normal massage services, and the only thing that could go wrong is being busted in the act. I assume it's not likely because i haven't seen any news reports - has this happened to anyone? What would be the course of action?

0% they are targeting brothels and known escorts.

Hard to say. If there was evidence of something illegal going on in there, say human trafficking, then police would be paying attention to the place and may even carry out a raid at some point. On the other hand, if it's just a massage salon and the women are discretely offering a few extras, then the chances are that no one knows and no one cares.

As you said, the problem would be being busted in the act... but even then, what evidence is there that something illegal was happening? The police would find a room with a massage therapist and you naked on the bed. People are normally naked during a massage, so that's hardly something unusual.

Update: I went to one and then I came (out).

I was a bit paranoid leaving, and about a block away (walking) my path crossed with a Garda car. My heart skipped a few hundred beats, but they just drove on.

Fascinating experience overall. Happy I did it, not sure if will repeat.

Lads there is absolutely no need to be panicking about Gardai. Don't go to a brothel and you're grand.

Massage places are 100% safe, being paranoid about gardai watching you is ridiculous. To actually be charged with anything they have to 100% be able to prove you purchased sexual services, his can only be done by (a) catching you in the act (b) record you going in to a known brothel and exiting said brothel where you were in there for a period of more than 5 minutes.

They can only catch you in the act by performing a raid on a premises, in order to perform a raid a warrant is required. A warrant is very specific and will name the premises in it. Because of this they will only seek a warrant on a known or suspected brothel, a massage parlour that advertises legitimate services and only "extras" if you go in and ask in person will never have a warrant granted.

Moral of the story is be smart where you visit only a dumbass will get themselves arrested.

You can take this as gospel as my background qualifies me to make such statements if you can read between those lines.

Please do not PM me on this subject, enough info is outlined above.

You would think massage parlors would be safe from both a search and a conviction. Most probably work of cameras on the entrance so someone in the parlor would shout sketch. At worst you're caught with a stiffy which would probably disappear very quickly when the boys in blue are there.

It might be easy to explain why you are naked on a massage table but explanation gets a little more difficult if the masseuse/masseur is also naked.

To anyone that doesn't like me here.
I hope you need to pee 3 times tonight, but that you only wake up twice.

I go weekly for a nice massage with 'extras'. Zero chance of being caught as they are legitimate business's with the ladies offering special services. Regarding the lady being naked, make sure she locks the massage room door. My regular lady always does before we get down and 'dirty'. Plenty of time to get the dress back on if someone comes knocking ..(which is never going to happen in my opinion)

Interesting this Random as i over the last while am visiting alot in an licenced or registered massage saloon and am getting my needs seen to,to clear this up there are massage palours and then there are massage palours, i'm talking about genuine licenced palours here where all taxes are paid and acting within the law, raids on genuine and licenced premises are very unlikely and and thats what makes it so much more relaxed. I didnt expect much when i first started going but am now surprised at how good it is, really relaxing and a happy ending for all, pm me if you want details

Totally agree... I have redirected my activities to massage parlors lately. I feel they are completely safe. As mentioned I stick to the fully legit ones, prominently located, fully licenced with nothing to hide. I certaintly avoid the 'back alley' ones. Thai places are great and there's always the nice happy ending and sometimes more on offer..
