    Default Dietary advice please

Evening y'all, has anyone tried the carnivore diet and if so did it work for you? I'm tempted to try it but don't know anyone personally that has. Any helpful/ constructive advice would be greatly appreciated

    Why?

A low carb or a low Gi diet doesn’t exclude plants.

The Inuits, for example, often are fairly carnivorous, and get their vitamin C from raw liver.

So you would definitely need Vitamin C, and probably fibre supplements.

It would take a while to adjust, you will need a healthy liver to deal with the excess protein.

Are you excluding alcohol also?.....that would probably kill me!

If you are of normal weight, eat little and often.

As in 3 small meals a day.

If like me you are a fat, obese ,sedentary wanker

    Then starve yourself.

Hi DrAlan, I've heard some great things about a carnivore diet, only online though so I'd just like to get someone's opinion that has actually tried the diet. I do not intend to cut out fruit or vegetables. My liver is in great shape, kidneys aren't the best as a result of seven months of intravenous antibiotics, long story... I don't really drink alcohol anymore, I do drink three litres of water a day

Okay, a carnivore diet with fruit and vegetables.

    Some guidelines:

not too much processed meats such as chorizo, salami, deli ham and rashers.

dont over cook the meat ( unless it’s chicken!)

not too many eggs or beef fat to keep cholesterol in check.

    plenty of oily fish!

    plenty of liver!

    organic if possible

    grass fed beef is best

Some research suggests this diet will boost testosterone.....reckon you’re probably okay in that department!

let us know how it goes....

i guess we’re all dying, some faster than others.

Exercise and dieting doesn’t work for everyone, otherwise obesity wouldn’t be increasing.

Maybe low thyroid levels, low testosterone levels?

im a believer in TRT ( testosterone replacement therapy), proven to reduce belly fat!

Also increases libido, orgasm quality, mood, bone density and red blood cells.

you need carbs to keep energy levels up and stops you getting headaches, i prefer more carbs and less meat but there is a happy medium too
