    Know there is thread on this but cannot find it. When booking room to meet someone from here say, should you select one guest and hope they will not notice your guest arriving or state 2 guests and leave the second anonymous assuming the lady will wish to remain so?

    Set two guests but don’t specify who the second guest is..that’s what I do for my hotel bookings anyway

    Don't over think it, just book a room and act normal.

    Just book a room with a double or king size bed, give the receptionist your booking name when you check in and off you go to your room. You pay for the room not the number of heads sleeping in it so it shouldn't be an issue if someone else turns up later to stay there with you.

    Some hotels insist on a name when registering for insurance reasons , but sure what’s in a name.... Jones, Smith etc.
