You cant live him alone all day unless is a good dog and sleep the entire day like mine do. I went in Belfast once for a day and left my dog home alone , when i was back in the evening i found her in same spot i always find her : in my bed sleeping , the place was warm so i guess she have been there for a while. Some dogs suffer from separation anxiety and they will bark and get crazy when they are alone in house. I was lucky my girl have been very good since i got her she was little 5 weeks old but she will sleep alone in her small bed and not crying during night to take her in bed with me like my dog i have in my country done. She never cry or bark , once i forgot her in the toilet room and later when i noticed she is not around and start looking around i found her in down position facing the door just waiting patiently for me to open the door .

Some dogs are ok with cats some dont. My girl will never get along with a cat. I see her how react when see a cat or other dog ..just crazy will break the window if she can to go thru to catch them. But i know many others dogs get along very well with other animals. I guess if u take him as puppy will be easier to get used with the cat but if u rescue and adult dog then make sure he/she is ok with cats before otherwise might be a tragedy

I leave my dog on his own whilst I work, but before each time I leave, I make sure he had plenty of food and water, I give him a kong filled with treats, also giving him a mint stick for him to chew on (gone in 60 seconds).
I am always putting YouTube on for him, putting on relaxing music for dogs, which spans around 9.5 hours, just long enough for it to still be on when I get home.
Usually when I leave, the dog lies quietly under the table on his bed, or he will lie on the sofa.
As soon as I'm home, he is there wagging his tale with full excitement jumping round, trying to get kisses and cuddles.

Yes very beautiful thoughts. Many unhappy dogs in shelters waiting to be loved and have a place called home and a family. I know is hard and leave a big hole in your soul ... special next days when u find yourself alone in house and he/she is not there to bring toys to play with her/him, when your bed is empty and nobody leave u out of duvet during night cause he/she sleep on duvet , its very painful and i understand u dont want to go again thru this feelings , but death is a normal process in life, when u grow older u loose brothers, sisters, parents, loved once...this is life u have just to be happy u gave them a good life and love until the day when they crossed the rainbow bridge, if u can give another creature a better life and love they need , they will never replace the lost dogs but they will be there for you like other buddies was ...

puppies are cute but grow up fast and need a lot of attention and a lot parents just get rid which is very sad, I totally blame the parents for getting their children pets
