    Default RTE tonight

I just thought I'd mention if anyone is interested there is a drama based on a true story apparently. It is on RTE one tonight at 9.30 it is called doing money.
It is about a young lady called Ana and about how she was abducted off the streets of London and trafficked to Ireland to work as a sex slave.
Sorry for not posting a more upbeat thread but I thought some might be interested in watching this.

It was let say education on that business on Ana had to endure... Which at times was brutal and hard to watch..... And her testifying her story to Belfast parliament got prosecution for her pimps , which got jail for 3 years.....

But too lenient of a sentence they got , as they should got more for what they done to her and the other Ladies... But was nice to see them guys who help her , sort out the two Romanian pimps as kicking they got and needed... Hope they executed them two Romanian pimps after as they deserve it....

Raids happen but unless the Ladies admit they working against their consent they couldn't prosecute the pimps before that.... And threat the Romanian pimps had over the Ladies family was brutal and show how ruthless they are to keep Ladies in fear of escaping or trying to get help....

Glad to see at the end Ana got justice and peace to live a normal life.... Just a shame it scar her of sex with men in her life after , as she admit to one of the guys who help her to get away.... If this what it really like for Ladies who been trafficked , then it very sad to know.....

3 years? Whatever judge gave 3 years for human trafficking deserves to be locked up FOR LIFE with the same beasts that are guilty of such disgusting acts. I struggle to try and figure out which act is worse, human trafficking or terrorism. Because they're not crimes, they're in a whole different universe of themselves compared to crimes. They are acts of destruction. Acts that unimaginable to the average decent person. Taking away someone's freedom... I struggle to think about it for too long before I start to feel sick. These beasts need to be treated as such, not as humans. Locked away to suffer in darkness and silence for the rest of their lives, never seeing another human being again, never seeing the light of day again. Take away that which they took from the people whose suffering they profited from: freedom. In most cases I wouldn't support the whole "an eye for an eye" approach, but in this case it is the only means of justice that I can see.

And what sentence would you suggest for clients who knowingly have sex with sexworkers who are pimped?
The client isn't having consenual sex if the girl has been traffiked and pimped out against her will. It is rape and well I would say 8-10 years in prison but I think that's to good for them, unfortunately we can't torture people.

Good few clients are doing it already and don't even know it but ignorance is no excuse, then some don't just care,

Absolutely disgusting, degrading and demoralizing. It is a shame that this happens to millions of people (not just ladies) around the world.
Those pimps and others who I hope get caught should do a lifetime in a north korean camp. (3 years my ass)
Just a heads up to some who will and have had an opinion on here, is that sex trafficking and escorting are two totally different things.
I would not wish the punishment that Ana and others endure on to anyone.

I watched this last night and found it hard watching, Maybe I am naive but what punters would go to a room and find a girl that had no interest and had marks on her body and still go ahead with appointment?.. I would honestly report any place I had visited if I thought girls were there being pimped out and I hope I have never been with a girl who was working for someone who made her do it against her will... As I said earlier it was hard watching this last night and maybe opened my eyes a bit to what could be going on around me ..

According to the Minister for Justice the law says up to a life sentence.

    http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages...inister-030118

Minister Flanagan stated:"In 2016, for the first time, the State initiated prosecutions under both the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) Act 2008 for the sexual exploitation of an adult, and under the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) (Amendment) Act 2013 for the labour exploitation of adults. Convictions in such prosecutions carry a maximum life sentence.”
The Minister added:“We are sending a strong message to criminals who seek to traffic and exploit vulnerable people: strong laws are in place, detections are increasing, and perpetrators will pay a high price for their heinous behaviour. Human trafficking is a clandestine activity and I am encouraging members of the public to notify Gardaí if they fear a person is the victim of human trafficking.
The link below is to section 5 of the Human Trafficking Act.

If I'm not mistaken it says up to 5 years for soliciting alone.
