And how can I tell if they're independent? Also a lot of the houses or apartments with an escort in it usually has 2 or 3 ladies in it, isn't that considered a brothel?

Its very difficult as pimps have a very professional outfit now but your best bet is to visit the Irish and British Girls as less risk, secondly Hotels are a good indication that they will most likely be independent as pimps hate using hotels.

I cant see a random passing by police car stopping a man coming out of a building.
Brothels are kept under surveillance for a long time before the police go in, a well planned tatic taking I would guess a couple of weeks to plan.
Any raids i have seen on the news have been big operations and a couple of premises visited in one move.
An Escort working alone and discrete is of no interest to the police.
IMO neighbours report apartments or houses that have too many men visiting - if 2 or 3 Escorts are working from the same place at the same time there are going to be a lot of men going in and out that will attract attention.
Also one escort having cars pulling up and people knocking the wrong door after 11pm is going to attract attention.

Play safe and the police are not going to waste their time on you or me.
