Contributing to a mess

As Stephanie said, he had spoken his mind a bit bluntly. And also due to a PM send to 'TheNightShift' which I will not go into details with, he was banned.
I think with him being on the site for so long, he just needs a little break, so I have given him a 1 week ban only, this time should let him cool off for a bit.

Is there any usefulness or contribution criteria applied to forum users? I'm not talking about joke posters or the occasional argument. I mean the users who just constantly start threads about meaningless dribble. Why does EI tolerate them? Why aren't they just banned? It's EI's forum so EI makes the rules.

The ban was mainly due to his posts on the forums and a thread he had made which was deleted.
So I only think that it is fair that a short ban is put in place.

The NightShift wasn't too pleased with the PM.
I have been in touch with him myself and explained the situation and if he wishes to dispute this, then he can contact us himself personally.

I am not going to take this matter any further.

Am i taking up up wrong? You seem to criticise posters who post as you say meaninless dribble and ignore the threads that are disrespectful to the ladies or for that matter other posters.

I may have been unclear. I didn't mention unrespectful/trolls - there are technically already rules in place about disrespectful posts. My personal opinion is there should be more bans for them and that the bans should be permanent more often. Enforcement is another topic all together.

Good posters do go off once in a while (I'm not saying Drbaghot went off btw) - I don't think they should get permanent bans.

My question is more about users's contributions (or total lack thereof) to the forum/site taken into account at all in the ban process.
