More ruthless moderation please!

If someone seriously threatens another, or reveals compromising personal information, ban them permanently.

If someone seriously demeans or provokes another, ban them temporarily. The forums are full of these posts that go beyond rhetoric and are allowed to stay, and the thread inevitably spirals into.mayhem.

If someone uses aggressive tones or accidentally offends, give them a warning.

Dr B's PM, in my opinion is in my third category.

I value his contributions, and understand what he was saying, but Ithink he should have been requested to avoid aggressive tones, which must have felt threatening to a moderator who probably did not have the authority to make the policy decisions that he was requesting.

Unban the doctor!

Anyway I'd say he's happy to serve a week ban as long as the trolls are banned .
