Is George going blind?
During the world cup he got a lot of players wrong during his commentaries. I counted several during the final. He called Mbappe, Pogba and vice versa a few times.He also mixed up some Croatian players
The same with Lingard and Sterling for england.
Is he past it or need new glasses?

I remember him doing commentaries as far back as the 1978 World Cup, so after 40 years it`s probably time for him to hang up the microphone.

All Northern Irish and Irish sports commentators are bad at their job, so unfortunately his eventual replacement will also be irritating in one way or another. Constantly getting players names wrong though should be a sackable offence, but unfortunately RTE rarely push elderly employees out the door.

IMO he's the worst commentator out there! I'd nearly mute the sound so I don't have to listen to him. If he gets players' names wrong how can you trust anything else he says during the match? I noticed numerous examples of him getting players mixed up during the World Cup - usually a few per match. Dreadful stuff.
