First timer question

Hi guys.

I'm thinking of having my first tv/ts and I was wondering how best to ask questions on the phone without sounding strange or rude. I once ask a TV on the phone about how safe things would be in terms of them being tested regularly for infections and the likes. She hung up on me and told me it's none of my business. Now I am very careful regarding sex with anyone I come in contact with and will always be tested once every 2 months if I have new sexual partners even with protection.
