7 Suspected Brothels Raided in Carlow/Kilkenny Today

In what appears to be a 'spectacular' the Gardaí launched raids on suspected brothels in Carlow (4) and Killkenny (3) today. It was part of an initiative against human trafficking, apparently and perhaps surprisingly, they also hit fast food joints, restaurants and nail bars, 15 of those latter 3 establishments were raided by local Garda Immigration Officers.

Evidence of prostitution was found in the suspected brothel raids, the establishments have been closed and some items confiscated. While no arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing.
There was 1 arrest on an immigration matter in the other raids.

look at monaghan navan and cavan, been raided 4-5 in past few months, luckily they were quiet and no guys on premises

How do they actually close a premises which is not really open in a strict retail sense? Do they board up the apartment? Also any indication of who was found if anybody on the premises? No arrests were made in the so called brothel raids which is strange because if they were brothels then two people providing services at least would have to be present. There is a lot about this which seems odd!!!

Has all the hall marks of a planned global operation on a given date rather than a stake out waiting to catch punters/service providers in the act so to speak.

planned strikes they are, The PSNI has also closed brothels in Tyrone, Derry and Belfast but of course they are working with the Garda Síochána on tackling this.
Would not be nice for any client caught up in this that is for sure

usually the escorts are asked to leave and money, phones, laptops all confiscated, I know escorts that have been arrested and prosecuted too.
The premises are closed for this sort of business as landlord is contacted and warned, they are not boarded up, just owner has to be more careful who he lets in in future so it will make it so much harder for escorts to find accommodation as landlords wont risk it

I suppose the cops have the option to bust them or let them off. This thing is going to be driven further and further underground with bad consequences. Seems bizzare that we are about to legalise abortion but sex for sale is a no go unless it is hidden away with all the obvious increase in exploitation and danger. Some country hey?
