A very sad outcome but without condoning I am not surprised that an incident escalated into blows being exchanged.

I have just returned to Dublin after a lengthy absence and frankly I am amazed at the antics of some drivers - it is shocking at just how poor the standard of driving on the roads is.
I have no issue with letting people out at junctions and would regard myself as a courteous driver. Poor I know but any journey now I find my blood pressure rising and I have to fight the urge to retaliate.

I am surprised there aren't more incidents because the provocation is getting out of hand - any journey now involves multiple cases of just poor/rube and aggressive driving and it is hard to resist the temptation to react.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

The old blue licence in the North had the 3 C's on the back - Care, Courtesy, Consideration. Sadly these qualities seem very rare on the roads nowadays.

And good temper. A rare quality in the Irish, if the perpetrator was Irish. We see ill-temper on the boards here too. The consequences on the boards here are not nearly so catastrophic, but if you cannot control your temper in one place you cannot control it in another.

Whatever the issue, it was not worth the loss of a life.

But Steve , all the C's I mentioned cover this, especially consideration. I do despair with the impatience of drivers now.
