The West reacts to the 'chemical attack' in Syria - why is murder by bombs and bullets any different?

It's a cynical joke Syrians sometimes make: "How would you rather be killed?

"By a shell, starvation through siege, or a chemical attack?"

Was discussing this last night with my friends from USA, how did this snowball so fast? The war in Syria was over, around 100k people have already returned to their homes. Then they came up with that chemical attack story, just to give them a reason to attack Assad's forces.

Syria will unfortunately become Lybia 2.0.

The real reason of the war in Syria.

"American NGO's will be at the forefront of this campaign. Expect to hear phrases along the lines of "We destroyed their homes, it is Europe's responsibility to help those in need" from major western media outlets.
There will be a massive propaganda campaign starting on the 21st of April. A new wave of refugees is coming.

Easy to call for war when its others fighting not any of yours.
There is some quote about old men sending young men out to die (in battle).
There are rumours about Trump avoiding getting sent to Vietnam.

If you could get into a university during the Vietnam War you could avoid being drafted into the US military for the period you remained in college.
Alternatively if one joined the National Guard ,they wouldn't have to go to Vietnam.
George W.Bush joined the Louisiana Air National Guard but according to some reports didn't turn up for training most of the time.
His father George H.W.Bush was a navy combat pilot in WW2.
John McCain was the son and grandson of US Navy Admirals and was a combat pilot in Vietnam. He got shot down ,parachuted out breaking his legs and spent a long period in the "Bamboo Hilton" suffering beatings and maltreatment at the hands of the Vietnamese.
John Kerry spent nine months as a commander on one of the small US river patrol boats in Vietnam.
So yes ,2 of the more gung ho US presidents ,Bush and Trump likely weaseled their way out of active military service a generation or two ago.

Russia has played its part in helping bomb Syria back to the stone age.As have 150,000 Iranian and Lebanese Hisbollah troops.
So in Syria there was a choice between the incumbent,a dictator from a minority with a secret police state that regularly resorted to torture and brooked little opposition or the likely winners among the opposition-the emergence of Isis or Al-Qaeda statelets.
Syria ,once destabilised ,was almost Hobson's choice, just having to choose between the slightly lesser of two evils.
