Over the past few months I have tried to set up appointments using PM's, have only got one reply,
I usually ask if they are available for an appointment next day at xx o clock, I would call them 30 minutes before.
No responses.
Is this usual? why advertise PM's if you dont reply?
The one reply I got was excellent, meeting arranged and it was delightful.

Another question, Why the reluctance to use text messages? is it because they don't have credit?

I try to arrange to visit a girl after work, I can't phone for an appointment during work, so texting would really suit me.

New clients have to call as the escort does not know who the client is.
Once you get to know her then texting is fine.
PM is a waste of time in my opinion.

From experience Niall , the PM option has attracted mostly timewasters.
99.9% of any PM's I received were utter assholes looking for chat; asking questions i'd answer, then they'd respond with another question even though I told them to call me to arrange.
So sadly Niall whilst you are obviously in the 1% bracket who's genuinely looking to make an appt; all the other idiots have ruined it.
If it's your priority then you'll find time to call.

If you met the Lady few times and regular to her, then a text to confirm your booking time..
But if you haven't met then a phone call is best option..
But i have book meeting by pm and ring to confirm my appointment..
It probably help also if you send your mobile number pm first before you call, It mean you are not a timewaster either..

I have found quite a few girls reply to PM’s if you have a specific question or request about a service or the type of meeting you’re looking for. I have had replies to clarify then called to set up meeting. I guess girls don’t want a pen pal or to engage in prolonged chat so guys can get off . Once you’ve met a girl, almost always ok to use texts after that

This is true....I have used PM's and gotten replies when asking specific questions about a particular favorite of type of meeting I'd like. Twice I've specifically wanted Anal sex and asked about it's availability and made it clear in PM's, as sometimes this is advertised and on the day not available. I got some straight replies saying yes it's available at an extra cost or only during longer appointments. I've then called the escort, clarified what I wanted, made appointments and on both occasions what I wished for was available
