Usually best to clarify that before booking.

I did.
I made sure I asked what was available and she said yes no problem,butt it was.
So a refund should have been offered.
Put me right off trying again.

I've not been in that situation so I'm not sure what I'd do but yeah, a refund seems reasonable.
If for no other reason than potentially putting off a repeat customer
